How FinlyZone Architecture Works

FinlyZone's BlindBox is built on a Zero-Knowledge, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) architecture. Unlike traditional applications that store your data on centralized databases, FinlyZone acts purely as a stateless relay. Your data never touches our disks.

1

MQTT Signaling

When you create a room, you connect to a lightweight MQTT broker. This broker acts as a stateless switchboard, instantly routing encrypted signals between peers to establish the connection.

2

WebRTC Mesh

For high-bandwidth data like Video Calls and Screen Sharing, FinlyZone upgrades the connection to a WebRTC mesh network. Video streams directly from your camera to the recipient's screen.

3

AES-GCM Encryption

Every message, file, and whiteboard stroke is locally encrypted in your browser using the Web Crypto API before being transmitted. Only users with the exact room URL can decrypt the data.

How BlindBox Works

Traditional feedback tools require complicated setups, email invitations, and database storage. BlindBox uses WebRTC peer-to-peer technology to create ephemeral, real-time feedback rooms that exist only as long as you need them.

  1. Host Creates a Room: With one click, the host generates a unique 6-character room code.
  2. Participants Join: The host shares the code or QR code. Participants join instantly without creating an account or downloading an app.
  3. Submit Anonymously: Participants type their questions, confessions, or feedback. The messages are sent directly to the host's browser.
  4. Live Sync: The host's browser automatically syncs all anonymized submissions back to the participants so everyone can read and upvote them.
  5. Host Controls: The host can pin important questions to the top or star submissions to highlight them during a presentation.

Perfect For...

  • Agile Teams: Run sprint retrospectives where developers feel safe giving honest feedback about blockers or management.
  • Classrooms: Allow students to ask questions they might be too embarrassed to ask out loud.
  • Town Halls: Let employees submit tough questions for leadership during all-hands meetings.
  • Event Speakers: Display the QR code on your final presentation slide for instant audience Q&A.

Why Anonymous Feedback Matters

When identity is attached to feedback, people naturally filter themselves. Employees fear retaliation, students fear looking foolish, and audiences fear judgement. By guaranteeing true anonymity through a zero-knowledge peer-to-peer connection, you unlock radical candor and uncover the truth about what your team or audience is really thinking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really completely anonymous?

Yes. We don't ask for names, emails, or accounts. The data is transmitted peer-to-peer. There is no identifying metadata attached to the submission payload.

Can I export the submissions?

Currently, the data lives only in the host's browser session. If you need to save the feedback, we recommend taking a screenshot or copying the text before closing the tab. Once the tab is closed, the data is gone forever.
